some days of medical

unmedical

Wednesday some pet and ct scans to determine if immunotherapy did anything. Friday chat with pa (45 minutes late as S and I sat in exam room on the 7th floor of SCCA downtown twiddling thumbs) who had little to nothing to say about scan anyway. S tweaked her pert little nose on that score; I stared into the middle distance. PA said Oncologist Harris would phone in with his take in under an hour, which he did and told us that there was a li something in the area of the surgical intervention of July of this year, aka the groin, but he couldn't in all honesty say what it was: inflamation, infection, or perhaps cancer. There was a small pool (3x6 cm) of liquid there with a small nodule on one side that was sucking radioactive sugar. So anyway O. Harris wanted to bring together a multi specialist cadre to hash out the most likely conclusion as to the nature of the thing and to figure a safe way to biopsy it. I got stuck on the word "safe" as it had not come up much previously. This skull session would take place next week and Harris would ring me up with whatever.

Other than that, there was some excellent visiting with R, C and Sarah, Alison and Bill and a very toothsome dinner at a place on Beacon Hill called Bar del Corso during which I had a regular Negroni and C had same but with a different ingredient whose name I cannot recall or find. (Update - it was something called Cynar which is a bitter aperitif that derives some of its flavor from the artichoke). It's a pizza place,  but the phrase "everything is good here" kept popping up. It would be grand to dine there for 2 weeks straight to really see if everything is good there.

  1. Charlie, good to hear from you! I get stuck on the description of Sharon's squiggly nose AND the sord Good, so that's what's fixed in my head and our warm hearts for you both. Would like one of their satellite pizza places right here on South Whidbey. Clinton has a few empty buildings, hey! XOXO from Sharen & Simon
