County park - Washington |
Since we prepared fully for today yesterday we should be able to stay in recliner for longer this morning, but must avoid the folly of complacency.
I sort of dread meeting with the ostomy women; they are so enthused you'd think they had had their guts rerouted and that it was a wonderful opportunity for self-actualization. I'm not saying it couldn't be for some, but I find it a bit tedious.
On the other hand, the hospital Starbucks may actually have the oat milk for their Brown Sugar Oat Milk Triple Shot Chilled Coffee unlike yesterday.
Ostomy ladies very informative and fun. Pectin ring pie crust technique and how many people know that Ostomy nurses in the early nineteen hundreds had to have a stoma themselves to get certified!
Checked out Kayak Point on the way north to Anacortes and Washington Park. These county parks can often be Cinderellas if that is an appropriate metaphor, not sure. At any rate, in my experience, they are worth seeking out. I remember County Line Park on the north shore of the Columbia during the Langley San Francisco bike ride as a good example.
Wound up with a good spot at Washington Park with water and electric for $31. Trail out the back of our site led to rocky shore facing Rosario Strait and many happy dogs swimming and romping and gin and tonic at sunset.
Used van shower. Workable but a bit tight. Knocked the liquid soap dispenser off the wall putting a lot of soap on shower floor and into gray water tank which could explode maybe, who knows with these weird fussy systems. Used van toilet too - much more straight forward I am happy to report.
Tomorrow could be better, but it wouldn’t need to be.
