Received the following email from Hopkins, Belize as to the last weeks of my old friend's life -

"Barry had been travelling back and forth Miami to Belize , for a couple years, he while in miami had a pile of medical tests done,,this time when he came to belize he was wheezing, and had to use those inhalers, he said he had envasema from smoking cigarettes, he had a tough time breathing, even with that he had 6 guys working for him gardening off and on ,he seemed to be in good spirits , and had energy..but he had lost his healthy eating habits, eating a heavy meal at 930 or 10 0 clock at night, 10 cups a coffee a day , and this chemical juice stuff, which one or both gave him the runs every day , he stayed up till 2 or 3in the morning , got up at 10, 11, noon sometimes, the worst thing is every time he would walk fast or move fast like up the stairs ,,his heart would beat a little faster ,,everytime time this happened  he would keep popping, blood pressure pills  ,this would cause him to sleep a lot during the day ,,,May first ..15 minutes to 7 am barry comes over to my house as i live next door to him, hunched over holding his belly right around his hernia area,,and said dave something is wrong i woke up at 3 o clock had to pee, couldn't poop either.he went back to sleep till 630 am then came over and asked me to drive him to the emergency at the hospital ..for a minute i thought he was joking , but i could see the pain he was having..so i took him to emergency they admitted him i  came home , at 1 o clock pm this lady police came by and said you have to go back to the hospital and identify barry's body , i said what do you mean identify his body well dave he died at 11 o clock this morning , the US embassy had an autopsy done to find cause of death ,,, apparently his insides were all infected , which happened to him before 2 years ago , which went away , but  they said because of his pill taking and the severeness of the infection it strained his heart , dont no why he was holding his belly..he was probably plugged up ...they buried him by his mother.the executor of the will is a woman name CAROL Rohan ,,don't know how she achieved that , but she is a real bitch , lier , thief...so that's the low down."

and a week or so ago there was this from another primary source -

"Yes the autopsy finding was.....pneumonia.no mention of anything to do with prostrate, hum. Hard to believe as he was in great pain rite where his bladder is and complete stoppage. It’s possible that they didn’t even do a catheter as the nurses are on work slow in solidarity with the teachers who are on strike because all gov workers have to take a 10% pay cut and no raises for three years lol this after a year off with pay. Belize is in a lot of trouble...can’t even pay their employes,going to default on loans . Talk of devaluation of the bz. They won’t go to the imf as they want the gst to go to 20% no exemptions for basic food and lay off 3000 gov workers...parasites, political hacks most of them. Dark times indeed.  I got my guns ,my horse and my vicious German shepard guard dogs and my 21 year old girlfriend, she makes me feel like 21 too.lol here is a picture of her and the old guy.ha ha"

Best to get this kind of news in the morning when there is still some resilience of mind. 

The day rolled on with walks, dog racing on the sand flats west of langley, chance encounters, breezy breezes, cottage cheese breaks throughout the day, visit with SD and almost 600 active calorie points on the watch. Waiting now for the opioids and acetaminophens to kick in and debating the need to pee with the need to just lay here.
